Vestibular & Concussion Physiotherapy at Physiatrix Rehab

Specialized Rehabilitation for Dizziness, Balance Disorders & Post-Concussion Syndrome

Balance physiotherapy patient assessment

The vestibular system controls your balance, spatial orientation, and gaze stability. When it’s disrupted — by a concussion, inner ear condition, or other injury — the results can be debilitating: spinning, chronic dizziness, brain fog, and falls. At Physiatrix Rehab in Delta, BC, our vestibular physiotherapy team uses evidence-based rehabilitation to identify the exact source of your symptoms and deliver targeted treatment that works.

Why Choose Physiatrix Rehab for Vestibular & Concussion Care?

Our vestibular physiotherapy program is built around a comprehensive assessment of your inner ear function, balance system, gaze stability, and cervical spine. We identify the precise source of your dizziness or post-concussion symptoms and design a rehabilitation plan targeted to your specific condition. Your physiotherapist will guide the pace and duration of your recovery based on your progress — there’s no one-size-fits-all timeline.

  • Vestibular Assessment: Comprehensive inner ear, balance and gaze stability testing.
  • BPPV Treatment (Epley Maneuver): Highly effective for positional vertigo — number of sessions guided by your physiotherapist.
  • Concussion Rehabilitation: Evidence-based, staged return-to-activity protocols at your pace.
  • Gaze Stabilization Exercises: Retraining eye-head coordination and visual tracking.
  • Balance Retraining: Progressive exercises to rebuild stability and confidence.
  • Cervicogenic Dizziness: Manual therapy and postural retraining for neck-related dizziness.

Leading the Way in Vestibular & Concussion Rehabilitation

Dizziness and concussion symptoms are frequently undertreated — patients are often told to “rest and wait it out.” The evidence now shows that early, targeted vestibular physiotherapy leads to significantly faster and more complete recovery. Our physiotherapists apply proven techniques including the Epley maneuver for BPPV, gaze stabilization training, habituation exercises, cervicogenic dizziness treatment, and structured concussion return-to-activity protocols — all tailored to your condition and progressed at a pace your body can handle.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your initial assessment typically takes 45–60 minutes. Your physiotherapist will review your symptom history and mechanism of injury, perform vestibular and balance testing (including the Dix-Hallpike and head impulse test), assess your cervical spine, and conduct cognitive and visual screening if a concussion is involved. From there, an individualized treatment plan and home exercise program will be established. The number of follow-up sessions is determined by your physiotherapist based on your individual progress and presentation. No referral is required to book.
